What to do if you find a stray or lost dog

Firstly, if possible, take the dog to the nearest vets for a chip check. This is free of charge; if chipped, the vet will be able to contact the owner.

If there is no chip, and you're in the Axarquia area, please email us with all information, area found, and a photo. We will do our best to help. Unfortunately, we can't always take every dog on, due to lack of foster homes, kennel space, funds etc.

Contact other local Rescues, and post as a found dog on all local social media.

If a dog has no visible identification, looks well-kept, and is in no obvious distress, chances are it has an owner somewhere.
